Welcome to the 2017 Fall Session!!  I hope a lot of you were able to get out last week and participate in Court the Cure.  It was a perfect paddle day and a great way to begin the season, while supporting a wonderful cause.  Thanks to Debi Learner and Linda Ball for chairing the event.

The North Shore Women’s Paddle League continues to be one of the largest leagues in the country.  We received six petitions for non-entry level teams and four entry level petitions.  The League added another level to the Southwestern Series, giving it a Series 12 and Series 16.  These two series are made up of teams solely in the Southwestern suburbs and the new series brings the total teams to fifteen.  Prairie Club added two new courts and Lake Bluff Park District finished their fourth!  Wilmette Park District will have two new courts ready for the Winter session, as will Westmoreland

As we have been discussing for several years, we moved all series back to ten teams.  This move helped alleviate the court congestion and the calendar crunch.  I feel the smaller series will promote even more competitive matches.  Thanks for being supportive and patient as we realigned all of the series.

I would like to thank all the league players and the many volunteers – captains, facilitators, club coordinators, tournament chairs, and my Executive Board (Karen McGowan, Lisa Murray and Leslie Parsons).  You all make my job easy and keep our league running smoothly!

Be Fair, Play Hard, Have Fun!!
